Hey, I'm Sarv, and I think we deserve better computers.
Halfway through college, I realised that there was a problem we all seem to have accepted- we all have love-hate relationships with the devices we use the most, our personal computers.
Every day, millions of hours of human potential are lost for absolutely no reason. Shouldn't the computers we carry around everywhere be good for us vs. sucking us out of our lives?
I realised I wasn't going to become the person I wanted to be if I was always getting sucked into computers every day.
So I decided to build the computers I wanted.
I had no idea where to start...
So I just started teaching myself and building things.
I taught myself laser cutting, CAD, electronics, firmware, PCB design.
I made prototypes like:
Finally, I made Kami.
When I posted about it online, people really loved it. It got millions of views. I started getting DMs every day asking when people could buy it.
But I had just moved to SF on just my savings, was weeks away from not being able to pay rent, and had no idea how I was going to turn my janky prototypes into something that I could ship to thousands of people.
So I raised money from an incredible group of investors including Lachy Groom, Balaji Srinivasan, and others, and decided to turn this thing into a real company.
We want to make computers that feel like sidekicks out of a Ghibli movie.
Computers you don't have a love-hate relationship with.
Computers that feel alive.
We're so excited to make computers cute and fun and colorful again!
